I've joined the Miles for Miracles team to help the brave kids at Boston Children's Hospital. I am a Clinical Social Worker at Boston Children's Hospital. I work with the Autism Spectrum Center Team and the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Psychiatry Team. I worked on the Inpatient Psychiatry Service prior for nearly three years prior. This fundraiser means so much to me-- Running and movement have always been a source of joy and inspiration for me. Practices like running, movement, yoga and meditation are deeply transformative, not just for me but for the patients and families that I work with in my social work practice. These practices help regulate the nervous system and provide some tools to manage stress and increase self-awareness. It is a practice that can help others feel more connected to themselves and others.
I am inspired each day by the resilience and courage the patients and families bring...as they are going through the most difficult situations and adjustments to mental health diagnoses (suicide attempts, suicidal ideation, self-harm, psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD, depression, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, aggression, substance use, neurodevelopment disorders, and more.....) I am running this marathon to honor their strength. I AM READY TO TAKE ON THIS MARATHON JOURNEY, especially keeping in mind the embodiment practices that I will continue to keep close to my heart personally and professionally throughout training!
Running the marathon will be such an uplifting and energizing experience. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be part of something so meaningful and use my passions to give back. Every mile is a step towards giving children hope and healing while honoring the strength and resilience of the children and families that I have worked with. I'm honored to support a cause that aligns closely with my heart and work.
Every dollar I raise funds the very best medical care, breakthrough research and vital support services for sick kids and their families. Your gift will:
- help children from your town and across the world get a second chance at life;
- give kids battling the most complex diseases care they can't find anywhere else;
- fuel 3,000+ researchers working to develop new treatments and cures;
- support patient programs, like music and art therapy, to let kids be kids, even during long hospital stays;
- help patient families in crisis with urgent needs, such as food, clothing and housing;
- deliver the most compassionate, leading-edge care to every child who needs it.
Please support my fundraising and help the incredible kids and families at Boston Children's Hospital! Your donation, no matter what size will make a big difference!
