For my fourth time I will be running a marathon to support Boston Children's Hospital. This year is extra special as I am defending my Boston Marathon title and course record in the T45 Upper Limb Impairment Para Athletic division! I am running not only to raise funds for BCH, but also to raise awareness for what is possible for differently-abled people.
In 1967 at 8 years old, BCH diagnosed me with a rare bone cancer in my right arm. BCH provided me the treatment and care to beat that terrible disease. Unfortunately, saving my life meant losing my right arm. Today I am living healthy, strong and 58 years cancer free!
Won't you please consider making a donation to my fundraising campaign to give other children the same life-saving care and opportunities?
Every dollar I raise funds the very best medical care, breakthrough research and vital support services for sick kids and their families. Your gift will:
- help children from your town and across the world get a second chance at life;
- give kids battling the most complex diseases care they can't find anywhere else;
- fuel 3,000+ researchers working to develop new treatments and cures;
- support patient programs, like music and art therapy, to let kids be kids, even during long hospital stays;
- help patient families in crisis with urgent needs, such as food, clothing and housing;
- deliver the most compassionate, leading-edge care to every child who needs it.
Please support my fundraising and help the incredible kids and families at Boston Children's Hospital.
