unlock the brain

The Brain Center is reimagining how we diagnose and treat brain disorders. Your support has placed us at the forefront of a new wave of personalized medicine. Just one example: Annapurna Poduri, MD, MPH, a pediatric neurologist, is developing gene-targeted therapies that will dramatically improve the health and lives of children with epilepsy.

mend broken hearts

Heart Center scientists have developed a synthetic replacement valve that can expand with a child’s growing heart. Based on the one-way valves in our femoral veins, this revolutionary design will spare children from repeated surgeries. Thanks to you, we’re bringing innovative devices like this one to patients everywhere.

outfox disease

Boston Children’s physician-scientists are fighting cancer and other diseases with innovation. Carla Kim, PhD is identifying new lung cancer treatment pathways. Leonard Zon, MD works with stem cell genes to target drug-resistant melanoma. And geneticist Alan Beggs, PhD is pursuing new therapies for children with rare conditions, like Will.

lift the vulnerable

"Only from the heart can you touch the sky," says the poet Rumi. The new Fazzalari Sky Bridge provides a safe, glass-enclosed path for families and children from 50 states and 140 countries into the heart of the hospital.

meet their greatest need

Through the Every Child Fund you are part of everything we do. You are in every laboratory and at every bedside. You sit with every family, bringing joy to sick kids and relief to the people who love them. Your kindness delivers healing services like music therapy to every child who needs them.

end suffering

The scars that criss-cross Manny Johnson’s arms are all that remain of the disease that once ruled his life. No longer dependent on blood transfusions, Patient One in the Dana Farber/Boston Children’s gene-therapy trial for sickle cell disease is now completely symptom-free. Clinical trials turn research into cures — thanks to you.

shelter the frail

Our tiniest patients and their families will be able to nest and heal in the planned Mayo Family Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Featuring 30 private patient rooms, the most up-to-date monitoring technology and more, the new NICU will provide world-class care while wrapping babies and parents in comfort.

nurture strength

Ensuring our children’s emotional health may be the most important gift we can give them. Boston Children’s Hospital Neighborhood Partnerships gives schools and health centers the tools to recognize and respond to depression, trauma and other issues that prevent kids from thriving. Your kindness helps us bring supportive services to more children in need.

build better breakthroughs

Eleven floors. A state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and consolidated Heart Center. "Smart" walls wired to take advantage of yet-to-be-invented technologies. The Hale Family Clinical Building will bring pediatric medicine of the future into the present and help us welcome more of the world’s sickest children.

look what you started…

a letter to our heroes

Look what you started.

You built the foundation for the next generation of discovery.
You made rooms for more children to heal.
You gave privacy to parents while their newborn fights to live.
You lifted families above traffic.

You are why Avery just started preschool, why Will can tell his story at graduation,
and why Manny and his little brother can live long and free of pain.

You inspired others to give. And you launched a million new stories.
Your impact will ripple into the lives of families you know and ones you’ll never meet.
Thank you.
