Dear Friends and Family,
This year, I am lacing up my running shoes once again to take on the Boston Marathon. It wasn’t in my plans to run another marathon, but when I learned about Molly Kenneally, I knew I had to act. And the only way I knew how to act was to run.
Molly was born on August 15, 2024— the brightest light to her family. But just seven weeks later, they received devastating news: Molly was diagnosed with bilateral fully detached retinas, leaving her without any vision. My heart broke for Molly and her family as they began a journey filled with uncertainty, challenges, and unimaginable strength.
This news struck a deeply personal chord with me. I’ve walked a similar road with my sister and niece, who was unexpectedly born without hearing. I remember the fear, the overwhelming unknowns, and the sheer determination it took to navigate a world that felt turned upside down. When Molly’s aunt, Tayla, shared this heartbreaking news with me in my backyard, I felt the same ache—and the same fierce resolve.
In that moment, I knew I needed to help. Running a marathon is hard, but it pales in comparison to the hurdles Molly and her family face every single day. The best way I can support them is to use my passion and my platform to advocate for Molly and to raise funds for the incredible work being done at Boston Children’s Hospital.
That’s why I’ve joined the Miles for Miracles team: to help Molly and countless other brave children who rely on Boston Children’s Hospital to be a beacon of hope. Every step I take on race day will be for Molly and for families like hers—families navigating the heavy, daunting journey of raising children with disabilities.
With your support, we can help ease their burdens. We can fuel the groundbreaking care, research, and resources that Boston Children’s Hospital provides. Together, we can ensure that Molly and children like her have access to the opportunities, tools, and community they need to thrive.
This race is about more than running—it’s about resilience, hope, and the power of coming together for something greater than ourselves.
Please consider donating to this meaningful cause. Every dollar raised is a step closer to making life a little brighter for Molly and her family—and for so many others who need our help.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Let’s make a difference together.
With gratitude and determination,
Dani
