Boston Children's Hospital doctors were in the room when my daughter was born. Thanks to their early care in the NICU (with a treatment pioneered at Children's) and follow-up since, Ro is a happy, healthy toddler. Now, she doesn't stop running - and neither will I.
But this is also not a new cause for me. I have a chronic illness myself, diagnosed when I was a teen. Although regular treatments have enabled me to live a pretty normal and healthy life (heck, I'm about to run a marathon!), I have spent countless hours in and out of hospitals over the years - for children and otherwise. I have always been aware of how fortunate I am to be healthy and fit, and I want to push that fitness for a bigger cause.
I've joined the Miles for Miracles team to run the Boston Marathon in support of the vital work at Boston Children's Hospital. This will be my first marathon, and I can't imagine a better way to do it.
Please support my fundraising and help the incredible kids and families at Boston Children's Hospital. Every dollar I raise goes to fund the best medical care, breakthrough research, and vital support services for sick kids and their families here and around the world.
