I'm honored to be running the Boston Marathon in 2025 for the Miles for Miracles team, benefiting Boston Children's Hospital. This cause is deeply personal to me and my family. At just 6 months old, my son Cam underwent surgery at Boston Children's to repair an obstructed ureter which had caused hydronephrosis of his right kidney.
Cam's journey began even before he was born, as his diagnosis was made in utero. We were referred to Boston Children's Hospital at his birth, where he was cared for by an extraordinary team of specialists. Within the first weeks of his life, Cam had numerous tests, including ultrasounds, a VCUG, and an MRI, all pointing to the need for surgery. In March 2022, Dr. Melise Keays and her team successfully performed ureter reimplantation surgery, allowing Cam to grow and thrive. Today, he continues to be monitored by urology and nephrology to ensure his kidneys stay healthy.
Running this marathon is my way of giving back to the hospital that gave my son the best possible start. Every mile I run and every dollar raised supports the life-changing work they do for children and families like mine. Thank you for helping me support this incredible cause!
