I am excited to announce that I will be running the Boston Marathon on April 21, 2025 as part of the Miles For Miracles team to help the brave kids at Boston Children's Hospital.
I am running in honor of my dear childhood friend Gillian Shor. Gill and I lived in the same neighborhood, went to the same elementary school, played on the same soccer team, and went to summer camp at CYJ together. To this day, many of my longest and dearest relationships are rooted in our friendship with Gill. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 10 when we were in 5th grade. She had brain surgery at Boston Children's Hospital and then battled hard over 2.5 years of cancer treatment. Gill showed incredible resilience during this time. She never stopped smiling, laughing, and cracking jokes. She fought her way back onto the soccer field, spent additional summers at camp, and studied hard to become a Bat Mitzvah.
This spring will mark 25 years since she passed away on on June 15, 2000. I am committed to taking on this challenge so that I can honor her memory while raising money for other kids and families going through similar, unfathomable challenges of their own.
Every dollar I raise funds the very best medical care, breakthrough research, and vital support services for sick kids and their families. Your gift will:
- Help children from your town and across the world get a second chance at life;
- Give kids battling the most complex diseases care they can't find anywhere else;
- Fuel 3,000+ researchers working to develop new treatments and cures;
- Support patient programs, like music and art therapy, to let kids be kids, even during long hospital stays;
- Help patient families in crisis with urgent needs, such as food, clothing and housing;
- Deliver the most compassionate, leading-edge care to every child who needs it.
Please support my fundraising and help the incredible kids and families at Boston Children's Hospital. I hope to see many of you along the course on April 21, 2025!
