My Story with Boston Children's
When I was three years old, my parents discovered I was deaf. In 2003, I received my first cochlear implant, followed by my second in 2007. Thanks to years of speech therapy and auditory training, I’ve been fortunate to make incredible progress and get to where I am today.
In 2017, I faced a new challenge when one of my cochlear implants became infected. For three years, I worked closely with the Boston Children’s Infection Team. Through PICC lines, rounds of antibiotics, and the unwavering care of an exceptional team, the infection was successfully treated. Their dedication left a lasting impact on me, and I’ll always be grateful for the incredible people who helped me through that time.
Running the Boston Marathon has always been a dream of mine, and I’m thrilled to make it a reality while supporting a cause so close to my heart. I’ve joined the Miles for Miracles team to give back to Boston Children’s Hospital and help brave kids and their families who rely on this extraordinary institution.
Every dollar I raise will fund life-changing medical care, groundbreaking research, and essential support services for children and their families. Your donation will:
- Help children from your town and across the world get a second chance at life
- Give kids battling the most complex diseases care they can't find anywhere else
- Support over 3,000 researchers working on new treatments and cures.
- Fund programs like music and art therapy, allowing kids to enjoy being kids even during extended hospital stays.
- Assist families in crisis with urgent needs like food, clothing, and housing.
- Ensure every child receives compassionate, cutting-edge care.
Please join me in making a difference. Your support means the world—to me, to Boston Children’s, and to the kids and families they care for. Thank you for being part of this journey!
