I am running the 2025 Boston Marathon in support of the outstanding medical professionals and inspiring patients and families at Boston Children's Hospital.
I underwent hip arthroscopy to repair a torn labrum resulting from a long-standing injury at BCH in January 2022. Because of the incredible Dr. Andrea Stracciolini and Dr. Yi-Meng Yen, I can run again. Now, I run for those who cannot.
I run in honor of my Miles for Miracles Patient Partner, Hailey, who was diagnosed in-utero with cloacal exstrophy (OEIS syndrome). Hailey is a sweet, vibrant and courageous 3.5-year-old who inspires everyone she meets and receives exceptional care from her BCH team. As Hailey gears up for another major surgery in 2026, her strength and bravery fuel every step I take towards the finish line.
I run in honor of Ethan Chitkara, who joined the angels in Heaven after a 15-month-long battle with Spinal Muscular Atrophy in 2007. The care Ethan received at BCH made his short but wonderful life comfortable and joyous.
I run in honor of Boden Calhoun, who as a newborn received life-saving surgery at BCH to correct a diaphragmatic hernia. Because of ongoing treatment from his dedicated team at BCH, Boden is a thriving 9-year-old who loves playing football and skiing.
I run in honor of every patient I worked with as a clinical assistant in the ambulatory cardiology clinic at BCH and as a researcher at Labs of Cognitive Neuroscience and Children's Hospital Primary Care Center (CHPCC). I adored working in cardiology, and I loved having the confidence to reassure families they were in the best hands. I am inspired by the patients I met, the dedicated providers I worked with and the incredible researchers advancing treatment and care for all children. My pursuit of a career in primary care medicine has been greatly influenced by the primary care pediatricians I worked with at CHPCC.
I am thrilled to run my first marathon in my home city and dedicate my run to the children who have touched my life. Please consider joining me in supporting BCH.
