Support my Miles for Miracles Fundraising!
This April, I will be running the Boston Marathon as part of the Miles for Miracles team in memory of Owen Ridder, and for every brave child treated at Boston Children's Hospital. Running the Boston Marathon has always been a dream of mine but there was never a cause that I felt deeply connected to until Owen.
Owen was born with a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), which severely impacted the growth of his lungs. Through the care of Boston Children's Hospital, Owen was able to overcome significant odds by beating his Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. Despite early hardships, Owen lived life to the fullest, captured the hearts of anyone who crossed his path, and left a lasting impression.
In February, we were heartbroken to hear that Owen had a sudden, unexpected, and rare complication with his CDH. On that day, the world lost the bravest, happiest, most loving little boy.
Despite being completely devastated, Owen's parents Kristen and Landon are grateful for Boston Children's Hospital for giving Owen a chance with their top-notch care and multiple life-saving surgeries. Without BCH, they wouldn't have 3 years of memories with Owen that they will cherish forever.
I am honored to carry on Owen's legacy. By running this race, I hope to encourage others to Live Like Owen: to love our time together, appreciate the little things, and find happiness wherever we are.
Every dollar I raise funds the very best medical care, breakthrough research and vital support services for sick kids and their families. Your gift will:
help children from your town and across the world get a second chance at life;
give kids battling the most complex diseases care they can't find anywhere else;
fuel 6,500 researchers and scientific staff working to develop new treatments and cures;
support patient programs, like music and art therapy, to let kids be kids, even during long hospital stays;
help patient families in crisis with urgent needs, such as food, clothing and housing;
deliver the most compassionate, leading-edge care to every child who needs it.
Please support my fundraising and help the incredible kids and families at Boston Children's Hospital.
