I'm honored and excited to be running the 2019 Boston Marathon as a member of the Miles for Miracles team in support of Boston Children's Hospital.
Boston Children's Hospital is a cause I strongly believe in. My family and I have been fundraising for Boston Children's for many years now.
I am extremely proud to be running in support of my Patient Partner, Conor Canavan. Conor is a strong young man who will be turning two years old during the week of the marathon. All I have to do is run a marathon while Conor has to battle cancer every day. He does so couragiously and almost always with a smile on his face. Conor can't run with me, but he will certainly provide me with plenty of motivation. Every donation I receive will help support research and care for patients like Conor.
Here are just a few additional reasons why this cause is so important to me:
* The hospital's patient care programs are unusually sensitive to what sick and injured children and their families really need.
* Researchers regularly make amazing discoveries that change children's lives.
* Boston Children's welcomes kids whose families can't afford health care--more than any other hospital in Massachusetts.
* Community programs make a point of reaching out to help low-income and at-risk kids.
Boston Children's really understands the importance of training the next generation of top pediatricians and nurses, so they can continue to provide the best, most innovative care possible to their patients.
I truly appreciate your support in helping me reach my fundraising goal for Conor Canavan and all of the children fighting battles each day.
