Team Jeremiah with a twist round 2!!I’m thrilled to be running my second Boston Marathon for the Miles for Miracles Team! This year will be extra special as I will be running in honor of our son Jeremiah and my best friends daughter Adalina. While most of you know Jeremiah extraordinary start to life, I’m even more motivated to run since Jeremiah’s most recent obstacles that he faces every day with a smile and great attitude. 2 years ago we noticed Jeremiah’s hearing was starting to decline. We knew he had a mild baseline loss from having meningitis but things were clearly progressing. We met with our incredible team at Boston Children’s Hospital and after several rounds of testing, Jeremiah was fitted for his first pair of hearing aids. He has absolutely thrived with his new devices and welcomed into his school community without question. He advocates for himself better than any adult let alone a 6 year old, I have ever see. He is determined, focused and positive with every obstacle he faces. He’s made meaningful relationships and friendships and excels in every arena he enters. Seeing his determination day in and day out has inspired me once again to run the Boston Marathon as he runs his own marathon every single day! I couldn’t be more excited to run for Jeremiah and one of his besties, Adalina. Adalina is my best friend Alicia and Josh Wilson’s daughter. She is one of the lucky few who was born with an extra chromosome. Her will, determination and grit is something that I admire every day. Adalina is a patient at the Down Syndrome Clinic at BCH and has been an absolute rock star since her first day of life. She has captured the hearts of so many and has excelled in every arena she enters. Her mom and I have leaned on each other through every appointment, diagnosis and obstacle and together with our husbands have become FIERCE advocates for our kids. We’re certain our kids will be change makers in this world that sees kids like ours not for their differences but instead for their strengths. We couldn’t be more proud to be their parents and see their futures Let’s goooooooooo!
