After the 2016 Twin Cities Marathon, I retired from running marathons! Well, I can officially say that I am coming out of retirement for one last race!
On April 20th, 2020, I get the opportunity to embark on another epic journey and run the Boston Marathon to help bring awareness to Down Syndrome, and more importantly help raise money to help open the doors for Mae's Market.
With your help and generosity, we plan to build Mae's Market at Boston Children's Hospital. It will provide developmental and educational tools for children. No matter if a family needs a child-sized walker, special sippy cup or books tailored to their child’s reading ability, parents can pick up the recommended items at the hospital, free of charge.
It is truly an HONOR to be selected to join the Miles for Miracles team in supporting Boston Children's Hospital and Mae's Market!
My dear family friend's daughter Mae was born with an extra chromosome, known as Down Syndrome . Mae has brought so much joy and happiness into this world, I hope to do my part and help bring a little joy and happiness into her world. Along with Mae's parents, Susie and Andrew Tapley, and Sara Conahan, our team hopes to raise enough money to open the doors for Mae's Market.
“It has a ripple effect. If kids with Down syndrome are doing better, if they’re meeting developmental milestones and learning how to read, it changes perceptions in the world at large of what a child with Down syndrome can do.” ~ Susie Tapley
The Down Syndrome Program at Boston Children’s has become a second home for Mae. It is my dream to make Mae's Market a reality for Mae and to help touch as many young lives as possible. Please join us in this epic journey! As I was taught at a young age, "Many hands make light work!"
From all of us on Team Mae, we thank you for your love and support! We love you Mae!
Much Love, Tim
