Thrilled to announce I have 2 patient partners for 2022!!!
#TeamNatalie is joining #TeamJace
TeamJace AND TeamNatalie will be running the 2022 Paris Marathon on 4/3 and then the 2022 Boston Marathon on 4/18. Running for Jace Perkins has been an amazing journey since I met his dad on a random night with mutual friends, his story and more importantly his positive attitude inspires me daily! Jace is an incredible kid! Biggest smile ever and enjoys life! Boston Childrens saved his life and continues to provide life changing services for kids like Jace all over the world! I've joined the Miles for Miracles team because I believe so strongly in all the amazing things Boston Children's Hospital does for kids:
- The hospital's patient care programs are unusually sensitive to what sick and injured children and their families really need.
- Researchers regularly make amazing discoveries that change children's lives.
- Boston Children's welcomes kids whose families can't afford health care--more than any other hospital in Massachusetts.
- Community programs makes a point of reaching out to help low-income and at-risk kids.
And the hospital doesn't just stop there. Boston Children's really understands the importance of training the next generation of top pediatricians and nurses, so they can continue to provide the best, most innovative care possible to kids.
Support me, support Team Jace, Team Natalie and support the hospital! Please make a gift today. No amount is too small! I am honored and blessed to run for Boston Childrens Hosptial and Jace Perkins! My patient partner and extended family!
Here is an update on Jace from his dad; Jamie Perkins!!
Jace turned 8 on December 26th of 2021.
He’s now 48 inches tall and he weighs 61 pounds. He graduated his school futures in Beverly Mass after 4+ years in the summer of 2021. Jace recently started at his new school Hopeful Journeys which is in Beverly as well back in Sept of 2021.
He’s currently in an after school Program which brings him back to Futures two days a week. He’s continuing his dance classes on Saturday he is now added swimming lessons and gymnastics as well every weekend.
We’ve been very lucky with his health over the last few years including his regular check ups at the orthopedics, dentist, and eye doctors.
Jace has always amazed us with his constant improvement of all of his speech and language development.
Still loving his music and dancing every day.
He also continues to be the happiest kid/person in the room at all times!!!!
Thank You everyone for your continued support of Jace and all your support for Steven and all he has done for BCH through the many years.
Here is an update on Natalie from her mom and M4M alum and my friend Ruth Berube Leach:
Natalie had a liver transplant at 10 days old and was the youngest recipient of a successful liver transplant at Boston Children's Hospital. She has had a remarkable recovery and her doctors think of her as a "best case scenario" outcome with her transplant. She will likely be on an immune-suppressant for the rest of her life and goes to BCH regularly for lab work and clinic visits where they check on her progress, but overall, we are very lucky that she has done so well!
She is now 6 1/2 years old and is a very active, smart, and creative little girl. She is on her dance studio's competition team, is a Daisy in Girl Scouts, plays soccer, loves painting and drawing, and does very well in school. She is a huge fan of the Miles for Miracles team and hopes to run both the Boston and Paris marathons someday herself!
I am truly blessed to run for these families and these rock stars, looking to run strong with both of them in my thoughts on race day! Let's go!!!
