I've joined the Miles for Miracles team because I am passionate about helping kids at Boston Children’s Hospital find lifesaving care, and give families hope.
I've been working with individuals and families with severe mental illness for over 20 years in different capacities. I want to be able to blend my personal life with my passion for running to help children in need. Being a part of the Miles for Miracles will be an amazing and humbling experience and will be my purpose in each breath and step I take.
I am so honored to be running the NYC Marathon for my patient partner Kylie Patten, who is a student at Melissa Hoffman Dance Center. Kylie was diagnosed with a brain tumor in February/March 2021. In May 2021, after a grueling 7-hour surgery, the tumor was successfully removed by the amazing team at Boston Children's Hospital. Although some challenges may lie ahead for Kylie, she is ready to tackle them head on. Kylie is a strong girl with a passion for life.
Dancers at Heart and I thank you in advance for your support and donations. All money raised this year will be restricted to the Child Life Services at BCH. "The mission of Child Life Services is to assist and support patients and families in their adjustment to the hospital experience. Emotional and developmental interventions are provided to ensure that the appropriate care and services are provided. This mission is accomplished through collaborative, interdisciplinary practice and education."
