YEAR THREE, HERE WE COME!
Team Charlotte and Olgert will be back for the third year for the 129th Boston Marathon on April 21st representing once again the Miles for Miracles team of Boston Children's Hospital! Charlotte is an amazing young girl and an inspiration for all of us. She has a huge heart beyond her years and always wants to help others, especially the BCH that has done so much for her!
Charlotte was diagnosed in utero with diaphragmatic hernia. She was born with virtually no left lung and a small percentage of a right lung. Her parents were told that she had a less than 10% chance of survival at birth.
Charlotte underwent 15 surgeries and spent the better part of her first two years living in the ICU at Boston Children's Hospital. But thanks to her remarkable surgical team, and the care of all the doctors and nurses who treated her, today Charlotte is a happy, healthy 13 year old, who is loving seventh grade, loving her family and friends and loves playing goalie in both lacrosse and field hockey.
Having Charlotte in my life is a blessing, and love going on this journey with her once again being able to help one of the best hospitals that has saved countless lives and helped countless children and their families and continues to do so every minute!
