I am back to partner with my favorite person, Olgert Prendo. Last year, Olgert and I had such a fun time learning and fundraising for the hospital that we wanted to do it again, especially for the C.D.H program.
In utero, I was diagnosed with a rare condition called Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, a condition where all of your organs are pushed up to your chest making it hard to have room to breath. I was born with virtually no left lung and only 9% of a right lung. My parents were told that I had less than a 10% chance of survival, but thanks to my remarkable surgical team who saved my life not just once, but many times, I am now a happy and healthy twelve year old.
I went on to spend the better part of my first two years in the ICU at Boston Children’s Hospital and as I continued to grow I had 15 surgeries.
I am now in sixth grade at BB&N and play goalie in both lacrosse and field hockey. I love hanging out with my family and friends who have continued to support me every step of the way in my medical journey-especially my mom who has never given up on me.
I am honored to be chosen as Olgert's patient partner. He is such an awesome person and a light in my life whom I love very much, and I know he will once again crush the marathon on April 15!
Thank you so much for all of your support throughout this journey.Every dollar I raise funds the very best medical care, breakthrough research and vital support services for sick kids and their families. Your gift will:
- help children from your town and across the world get a second chance at life;
- give kids battling the most complex diseases care they can't find anywhere else;
- fuel 3,000+ researchers working to develop new treatments and cures;
- support patient programs, like music and art therapy, to let kids be kids, even during long hospital stays;
- help patient families in crisis with urgent needs, such as food, clothing and housing;
- deliver the most compassionate, leading-edge care to every child who needs it.
Please support my fundraising and help the incredible kids and families at Boston Children's
