Live from London!! Two days and counting...it was great to connect with the MFM London team for breakfast this morning. We had the privilege of meeting Emily Sisson, marathon record holder and all-around great person.
I continue to be inspired by the team's stories and purpose. It is an honor to run for Boston Children's Hospital, and for Oliver.
More from the finish line! Thank you all for your generosity!!

Hard to believe the London Marathon is just two weeks away! It was great to see Oliver at last week's 21-miler!

The miles are coming along and I am training hard for my patient partner, Oliver. See the early days of his long journey here, in a feature with Lester Holt.

I am very excited that I have the privilege of running this year’s Miles for Miracles London Marathon, continuing with my patient partner, Oliver Huffman. You may recall that an air ambulance landed the Huffmans here at Boston Children’s now nearly nine years ago, when Oliver was just five months old. They were desperate to find a team of experts that could provide the care Oliver needed in order to be able to bring him home. Oliver was born with multiple complex medical needs resulting in the diagnosis of VACTERL. All of Oliver's complications would require multiple surgical interventions and a team of experts so that he would have the best possible outcome with long-term results. They initially came to Boston Children's for the esophageal atresia team, but eventually received care from Children's neurosurgery, cardiology, among many other teams! Given the amazing care Oliver received, and the treatment he would continue to need, the Huffmans decided to make Boston their home.
I ran the Boston Marathon last year with Oliver’s support and encouragement and am excited to be running London for him this April 27th. This year will be even more compelling as Oliver is dealing with some setbacks to his health that will require another substantial surgery in the coming months. The surgery is rare, requires a prolonged hospital stay, and recovery and ongoing treatment are extremely complicated given the other numerous surgeries Oliver has endured over his young life.
It is stories like this one that inspire me to put one foot in front of the other. I hope that you, too, are motivated to give so that families like the Huffmans have hope for their children.
I've joined the Miles for Miracles team because I am passionate about helping kids at Boston Children’s Hospital find lifesaving care, and give families hope.
Will you help me reach my fundraising goal with a donation today?
