I am so excited and grateful to be running the New York City Marathon this fall on the Boston Children’s Hospital team and raising money in support of the hospital.
As most people in my life know, I have been running since I was just 7 years old. Watching my parents run the turkey trot out of a family friends window, I remember vividly dying to get out there. The following year I did exactly that and my running career and love for the sport had just begun. At the beginning, I would beg my parents to take me for a run but it wasn’t long that they could not keep me inside and could not follow me out the door fast enough. Though I know their nerves were through the roof every time I ran out that door, I was doing what I loved. Throughout my life, I have found myself enduring ups and downs throughout the sport, but never losing the love I have for it. After running Division 1 for Merrimack College, my friend and I decided to run a marathon off of absolutely zero marathon training to check it off the bucket list. We were one and done, isn’t that what many runners say?! Now, this fall I will be running my second marathon with the same friend, plus a couple others, (and absolutely will be training) and could not think of a better cause and team to be running for.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated as every single dollar raised, funds breakthrough research, family support services, and vital care not covered by insurance through the hospital’s Every Child Fund. Thank you so much in advance for the support
