I've joined the Miles for Miracles for the TCS New York City Marathon because I am passionate about helping kids at Boston Children’s Hospital find lifesaving care. After all, I was one of those kids! At the age of 12 I became a patient at BCH when I fractured my spine. I spent 9 months in a back brace, and many years after recovering and re-gaining strength in my back and core. I certainly never thought I would be running marathons (after all, I couldn't even stand up straight)! I feel so grateful to have made the recovery that I have, largely in part thanks to the care I received from BCH, and I know that not everyone is as fortunate as I was. I am fundraising in the hopes of supporting success stories, such as myself, for other children.
