Hi! I am running on behalf of Miles for Miracles and Boston Children's Hospital in the TCS New York City Marathon on November 3rd 2024. For those of you who know me, Chris and my oldest daughter Cora, you know that Boston Children's Hospital and the amazing doctors and researchers there are a huge part of Cora's survival story. It has been seven years since Cora's Adenosine Deaminase Severe Combine immunoDeficiency diagnosis and nearly seven years since her life saving experimental autologous bone marrow transplant (Gene Therapy). Not a day has gone by where I do not feel completely indebted to the scientists, doctors, research hospitals, staff and fundraisers that made our story possible, Coras survival story. Running the NYC TCS marathon and raising funds is the very least I can do in the start of my journey to try and pay it forward.
Will you help me reach my fundraising goal with a donation today?
For as much as it means to me, Chris and Cora, there are other families that need need their own survival story.
Every dollar I raise funds breakthrough research, family support services, and vital care not covered by insurance through the hospital’s Every Child Fund. Your gift will:
- give children battling the most complex diseases treatments they can’t find anywhere else;
- help children in your town and across the world get a second chance;
- fuel 3,000+ researchers working to find cures;
- help patient-families in crisis with urgent needs, including housing, food and clothing;
- bring crucial care to families through outpatient psychiatry clinics;
- and so much more.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Chelsea Oakley
