I am so excited to run the 2024 NYC Marathon with the Miles for Miracles team to help kids at Boston Children’s Hospital find lifesaving care.
I am honored to be running in memory of my cousin Connor Reilly. Connor was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a rare disease, at just one month of age. At the time of his diagnosis, he was given an 8 month prognosis. Despite the odds, Connor lived a beautiful, happy and fulfilled life until he passed in 2023. In his 21 years on Earth, Connor loved learning and attending class alongside his peers throughout his years at the Norfolk Public Schools and King Phillip Regional High School. He enjoyed spending time outside on walks and in the sunshine, taking in his surroundings. Above all, he absolutely LOVED music, especially The Beatles.
Connor was treated at Boston Children's throughout his lifetime. Being diagnosed with a rare disease posed great challenges for both Connor and his family. His parents advocated for him and his care every step of the way. I was honored and blessed to be present at Children's for Connor's Honor Walk, where family and friends were joined by countless healthcare professionals as we said goodbye to our beloved Connor.
Will you help me reach my fundraising goal of $5,000 with a donation today?
Every dollar I raise funds breakthrough research, family support services, and vital care not covered by insurance through the hospital’s Every Child Fund. Your gift will:
- give children battling the most complex diseases treatments they can’t find anywhere else;
- help children in your town and across the world get a second chance;
- fuel 3,000+ researchers working to find cures;
- help patient-families in crisis with urgent needs, including housing, food and clothing;
- bring crucial care to families through outpatient psychiatry clinics;
- and so much more.
Please support my fundraising—and help the children and families, like Connor and his family, at Boston Children’s and beyond.
