This year, I've joined the Miles for Miracles for the TCS New York City Marathon because I am not only passionate about helping kids every day as a pediatric pharmacist, but also passionate about helping kids at Boston Children’s Hospital find lifesaving care-- kids including my own sweet cousin Carter.
In November of 2020 at 20 weeks, we found out that Carter had a rare condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). HLHS is a rare congenital heart defect in which the left side of the heart is underdeveloped. Since Carter could not receive the level of care that he needed in his hometown, Boston Children's has become a home away from home. He has had three surgeries at Boston Children's Hospital- the most recent one being just this past April 2024. Every time, he has recovered exceptionally well and truly has shown what it means to be a Heart Warrior!
Every dollar I raise funds breakthrough research, family support services, and vital care not covered by insurance through the hospital’s Every Child Fund. Your gift will:
- give children battling the most complex diseases treatments they can’t find anywhere else;
- help children in your town and across the world get a second chance;
- fuel 3,000+ researchers working to find cures;
- help patient-families in crisis with urgent needs, including housing, food and clothing;
- bring crucial care to families through outpatient psychiatry clinics;
- and so much more.
Please support my fundraising—and help the children (including my sweet cousin Carter!!!) and families at Boston Children’s and beyond.
If you have read this far, thank you for your time checking out my fundraising page! You mean the world to me and most importantly these kids!
