I'm thrilled to be running the 2024 NYC Marathon with the Boston Children's Hospital Miles for Miracles team! We are raising money for breakthrough research, family support services, and vital care not covered by insurance through the hospital’s Every Child Fund.
I know firsthand that when local hospitals decline to provide complicated surgical care, Boston Children’s Hospital opens its doors. When I was 6 years old, a comprehensive team of their specialists opened their arms to me and successfully removed a non-involuting congenital hemangioma (NICH) tumor from my face (post-op photo above).
I'm grateful to connect my appreciation for BCH with my love of running this fall. This a full-circle moment, as my first big race was the 2021 NYC Marathon, and it's what ignited my love for endurance sports. Since then, I've pushed through three marathons, a 50-mile ultramarathon in Upstate New York, and a delirious 100-mile ultramarathon on a flooded course in Texas. I've also made some of my closest friends through the sport.
