I've joined the Miles for Miracles team because I am passionate about helping Boston Children’s Hospital in their efforts to provide lifesaving care to their patients and support to their families.
As many of you know, my wife Prianka and I are fortunate to have two amazing children. Less of you may know that our son, Varun, spent the first two months of his life at Boston Children's. He would likely not be with us today if it wasn't for the efforts and expertise of the team at Children's.
In late 2017, Prianka and I found out that Varun had a rare congenital condition that would require immediate hospitalization, a nuanced surgical and care strategy as well as long-term support and monitoring. Thankfully our existing healthcare provider and the team at Children's were able to identify the condition through imaging. We spent the next several months planning with the Children's team for what was to come. While the next year was likely the most difficult of our lives, the Children's team was with us through every step caring for our son and providing the support and understanding we needed as parents. We cannot thank the team at Children's enough for what they have done for our family.
