I've joined the Miles for Miracles team to help the brave kids at Boston Children's Hospital.
Every dollar I raise funds the very best medical care, breakthrough research and vital support services for sick kids and their families. Your gift will:
- help children from your town and across the world get a second chance at life;
- give kids battling the most complex diseases care they can't find anywhere else;
- fuel 3,000+ researchers working to develop new treatments and cures;
- support patient programs, like music and art therapy, to let kids be kids, even during long hospital stays;
- help patient families in crisis with urgent needs, such as food, clothing and housing;
- deliver the most compassionate, leading-edge care to every child who needs it.
As many of you know, this is a dream come true for me. I have wanted to run the Boston Marathon since 1998 when I was lucky enough to see my dad run it. I think it was one of the most consequential things that has ever happened for me because I became a lifelong runner, and Red Sox fan, that weekend.
"Run with purpose" is something I have always tried to do, but there is no greater purpose than to run for a great cause. You think running is inefficient, silly, and strange, but I think I embody those traits. The beauty of running is how easy it is to get into, to lose yourself in setting a goal and later reaching it. In my 20 years of running, after thousands of miles more than I want to think about at once and hundreds of races (some that I got lucky enough to steal the win at the line), it has all come to this moment.
I believe everyone has a purpose and mine is to run the Boston Marathon for the Boston Children's Hospital in April, with your help.
Please support my fundraising and help the incredible kids and families at Boston Children's Hospital.
