About a year ago, our two-year-old son, Graham, began experiencing seizures that left us deeply concerned and searching for answers. We sought care from Boston Children’s Hospital, where, after 6 months of monitoring, testing, and imaging, Graham was diagnosed with a severe Chiari malformation.
A Chiari malformation is an abnormality where the lower part of the brain pushes down into the spinal canal. This puts pressure on the brain stem and the spinal cord. It can also block the flow of cerebrospinal fluid.
From our very first visit with his specialists, through his diagnosis, surgery, and ongoing recovery care, we have been overwhelmed by the compassion, expertise, and dedication of the entire team at Boston Children’s Hospital.
This experience inspired me to join the Miles for Miracles team. We are committed to supporting Boston Children’s Hospital, as their work is truly life-changing for families like ours. This is our way of giving back and ensuring other children receive the same level of care and hope.
