With George's crooked smile on our hearts, we are ready to finally honor his legacy publicly by raising funds for our beloved Boston Children's Hospital. More specifically, we are directing all funds towards research into Sudden Unexpected Death in Pediatrics.
Our first fundraising event will be an in-person and virtual physical edge challenge. This challenge will allow all of us to go to our edge, however and wherever that is for you. There are no barriers, no restrictions, just energy and personal goal setting, both attributes George had in endless supply.
The Georgie Challenge June 2024
From today until June 6th(Georgie's birthday), we are asking all that are willing to do any sort of physical challenge with increments or total counts of 9, the age George would have turned in 2024. Get creative, perform your challenge, share it on social media and spread that challenge by asking others to go to their edge.
How it works:
1. Choose your challenge (in increments or total of 9)
2. Take a photo or video and share it on social media
3. Tag @teamgeorgie and ask one or two friends to do their own challenge
If this challenge was given to George, a kid who was working on standing unassisted and walking with just support of hands by an adult, his edge would have been: 9 minutes on the shaky plate(perhaps in 2 days time), 9 seconds free standing, 9 minutes tall kneeling. Perhaps for his able bodied mom 9 laps on the track! WHAT IS YOUR CHALLENGE?! WHERE IS YOUR EDGE?!
