Geared toward high schools and colleges, this yearlong, student-led fundraiser culminates in a day of dancing. Fundraising helps kids at your local Children's Miracle Network Hospital—Boston Children's (that's us!).
Thank you for coming to Olivia's fundraising page!
As most of you are aware, Olivia was diagnosed with Atrial Septal Defect earlier this year. Many of you, however, do not know that she had another echo in August under sedation, where doctors discovered she actually has a second hole in her heart (another ASD). While the plan has not changed as far as waiting until Olivia is 3-4 years old before surgery will be performed to repair her heart, having a second hole does make things a little more complex. Despite this new information we, along with her cardiac team at Boston Children’s Hopsital, are still very optimistic and hopeful that Olivia will not only rock her surgery when the time comes, but she will be able to lead a very healthy and long life as a result of early diagnosis!
There are so many children who, like Olivia, suffer from congenital heart disease, defects and other even more severe heart complications. While our time with Boston Children’s has only just begun, we have experienced nothing but exceptional care and we are so thankful to have the best pediatriac hospital in the country, if not the world, looking after our baby girl. Scientific research and innovations play a critical role in providing the best possible care and treatment for all Boston Children's patients. So, when we were discussing alternate plans for Olivia's birthday due to the Coronavirus, we were inspired to go BIG in a way that gives back to caring for children just like Olivia.
We have created this fundraiser and are asking for donations of any amount to Boston Children's "Heart Fund" in lieu of gifts for Olivia this year. The "Heart Fund" directly supports groundbreaking advancements in the diagnosis, treatment and cure of heart conditions, with a focus on children (which oftentimes translates to adults too).
We will also be running a 5k on Olivia's birthday, Friday October 23rd!
Not exactly ready to run 3.12 miles?! That's okay! Walking is totally cool and encouraged!
Can't do the 23rd?! No problem! Any day that weekend will work!
Don't feel like walking?! That's okay, too! A donation of any amount, sharing this page, or just your support and love is greatly appreciated!
For more information on the 5K, or to be added to the facebook event, please contact Nicole!
