I couldn't be more excited to be leading the North Shore Yogis team for my 4th year at Yoga Reaches Out! My first year, I joined this event because I was in my teacher training, loved yoga, wanted to give back and because my teacher was a presenter. What I thought would be a one-time event for me, quickly morphed into one of my favorite days of the year. You see, YRO is so much more than a yogathon. It's a day filled with inspiration and hope. A day focused on community and support. More than 1,000 yogis come together for an inspirational day of yoga, music, and fundraising - all to help bring peace and healing to others.
Typically, each studio creates their own fundraising team, but we wanted to do things a little differently. North Shore Yogis is comprised of students, teachers and studios from all across the North Shore. We believe that together we are a force to be reckoned with. We can reach more people. We can raise more money. We can make a bigger impact for Boston Children's Hospital.
All of the money we raise supports Boston Children's Hospital's Wellness Program and Every Child Fund. Having a child in the hospital is never an easy time, but the Wellness Program is here to support these families through yoga, reiki, meditation and more - all free of charge. The Every Child Fund helps to brings childhood into their lives with play, celebrations, and furry friends. They provide many things including: visits with pet therapists, birthday celebrations, Halloween costumes, countless bubble parades for the end of chemotherapy and practice 'procedures' on stuffed animals, so kids know what to expect in their own medical care.
Support me in helping give strength to families coping with a sick child and gifting smiles to the children of Boston Children's Hospital.
