Just after Christmas my 11 year old powerhouse of a niece Penelope was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma. Obviously this rocked everyone's world. Although Burkitt's is a rare type of lymphoma in children the medical professionals at Children's Hospital were able to fill the room with positivity and confidently say to my sister and brother in law that it is treatable and they have plenty of experience with the treatment plan for it with much success. In true Pen fashion she powered through the "Pre-Phase" of chemo and phase two however she still has a way to go. Penelope is a determined and positive little girl full of hope and adventure and her perseverance is something we can all learn from. I have never met a kid like her and I intend to do whatever is in my abilities as her Auntie to support and bring awareness to childhood cancer and how as a unit we can bring hope and support to ALL those affected near and far!
I'm participating in Yoga Reaches Out April 28th 2019 in honor of Pen because I want to help Boston Children's Hospital continue its amazing work for kids and families. During this day-long yogathon, more than 1,000 yogis will come together for an inspirational day of yoga, music, and fundraising - all to help bring peace and healing to others. The minimum YRO fundraising requirement is $250 if you register before February 1st and thereafter, the minimum is $300.
This year donations will benefit Boston Children's Wellness Program and Every Child Fund.
Support me in helping give strength to all familes in their time of need.
JOIN TEAM PEN or DONATE TODAY!! I have set a goal of $1000 but my hope is to exceed this in her name.
