Our now 8-year old son Cole was born with a cardiac defect that required surgical repair when he was 8 weeks old (he was 5.5 lbs). Were it not for the magical humans that literally breathe life into precious babies at Boston Children's Hospital, we would not be graced with our spicy and sweet, snuggly, smart and sporty 3rd musketeer. Cole completes the trio and family into which he was born.
Cole came home from his surgery on Christmas Eve and will forever be my best ever Christmas gift. In the days after his surgery, Nick and I were guided by hospital staff to a wing of the building that was filled to the brim with donated toys, books, stuffed animals, trucks, dinosaurs, and dolls. Santa came by and visited with children and families. They knew in our efforts to keep our kids healthy, we hadn't stopped to buy any gifts for our loved ones, and they had us more than covered.
We will never forget how blessed we are, and every year we give to Boston Children's Hospital, in an effort to pay forward the generosity, expertise, and kindness from which we immeasurably benefited. If you can this holiday season, please join us in supporting children and families of Boston Children's.
Thank you all and Happy Holidays,
Sara, Nick, Cole, Gage, and Nathaniel xo
