Our first Christmas as a family of three was spent in the Cardiac ICU at Boston Children's Hospital. No family ever imagines spending the holidays in the hospital but when your child is sick and fighting for their life you do what you have to do. Sometimes that means giving up holidays at home for a lifetime more. The doctors and nurses try their best to make it special but they never do it alone. While we were there we received gifts, gift cards and blankets because of the generosity of strangers through fundraising efforts and now it's our turn to try to make those kids and families feel a little bit of joy during some of the most stressful times in their life!
We are so grateful for Molly's health with each passing day and for every holiday we get to spend at home. That was once not a reality for us and we never take any of our time together for granted. All we want is the same for every kiddo and family spending the holidays in the hospital this year.
This year we are raising funds for the Boston Children's Hospital toy drive. The pandemic has made it tough for them to receive donations over the past year and a half so we are trying to help out in any way we can. There is no donation too small and we appreciate any help!
Thank you for making holiday joy possible for kids who won't be home for the holidays.
