On June 9, we will once again walk the Boston Children's Hospital Walk for Kids, In honor of our sweet Catelyn.
You may not know that Miss Catelyn was diagnosed with a rare brain abnormality when I was 18 weeks pregnant. We listened to doctors talk about worst case scenarios and the possibility that she could have major disabilities. I spent the next twelve weeks pretending to be a glowing pregnant woman while scouring the internet and worrying constantly.
Then we went to Children's. The team of nurses and the pediatric neurologist Dr. Elitt were unbelievable. They gave us their time, their expertise, their caring...but best of all they gave us hope.
If you've met Catelyn, you know that we had every reason to be hopeful. She is a sassy, smart, and (we think) adorable two year old who has met or exceeded every milestone thus far.
Not everyone's story is so positive, but I bet their experience at Children's is. So we will walk on June 9th to help fund Boston Children's exceptional care and groundbreaking research that can help every child.
