What a year it has been. When you can't run, you walk.
Kailyn has had quite a year. 3+ years into the pandemic and she continues to battle. Last July Kailyn came down with Covid. Thanks to Boston Children's Hospital and coordination with the NIH they got her on Remdesiver and she beat it. She recently had MRSA that developed within her ears and thanks to collaboration between BCH and Mass Eye and Ear they developed a plan to treat it. Kailyn went under anesthesia 5 times in 6 months to discover some of her challenges with ear infections which led to a PICC line and 6 weeks of daily antibiotics and a double mastoidectomy. We are cautiously optimistic about her progress after the procedure. This year we once again walk for Boston Children's Hospital. No running the Marathon this year , but we continue to walk in support of Kailyn.
