Team I heart Cora is walking to honor Cora Mary Smith. Cora unexpectedly spent the first 3 months of her life on the cardiac floor of Boston Children’s Hospital due to having 2 holes in her heart and a heart condition called Cardiomyopathy. Cora underwent open heart surgery at 1 month old to close the holes in her heart. The care Cora received at Boston Children’s Hospital saved her life.
Cora is now 13 months old and thriving. She is seen by her amazing cardiac team in Boston every few months. Cardiomyopathy is a very unpredictable disease so we do not know what the future holds for Cora. There is a great possibility she will need a heart transplant someday. We feel we can handle anything the future brings because of the care and support of Boston Children’s Hospital.
All proceeds raised will go directly to Boston Children’s Urgent Needs fund. The Urgent Needs fund provides assistance during those heart-breaking times when an overwhelmed family must drop everything for the care of their child. Some examples of what the urgent needs fund provides includes meal vouchers, parking vouchers, and toiletries.
Please consider donating to a cause that is so meaningful to the Smith family
