I'm fundraising on behalf of Boston Children's Hospital because:
Emmy was admitted to children's with what we figured was a little dehydration due to the flu, even though her flu test had been negative the day before. I'm glad I listed to my instincts. After a few days she wasn't getting any better, and began to have episodes of bradycardia.
Emmy was rushed into an MRI, then a lumbar puncture, and an EEG. She was suffering from encephalitis, a rare complication of the flu not normally seen in children her age. We were moved to the ICU where she had excellent attention and 2 treatments of IVIG. After a few more days she would begin to show improvement, and we were finally discharged on day 11!
She's recovering miraculously, even though she still has a very low white blood cell count. But we're all doing our part to quarantine and keep her heathy!
Help us support Boston Children’s Hospital so patients, parents, and siblings can have the support they need in the most frightening time of their lives.
I BELIEVE that every dollar I raise for Boston Children's Hospital will have a ripple effect and could be THE dollar that changes everything for a future family in crisis.
Please consider a donation to support my fundraising efforts... because I KNOW that when we band together WE WILL help fund Boston Children's exceptional care and groundbreaking research that can help every child.
