Our youngest daughter, Mia, was diagnosed with leukemia on April 13, 2021, and we have been living at the Boston Children's Hospital where she is undergoing the first phase of her chemotherapy treatment.
Everyone here has been beyond amazing here, working around the clock to heal our baby. Being so young, she is having trouble understanding why she can't go home, and gets quite sad at times. The hospital has so many programs dedicated to the mental well being of their patients, as well as siblings. From creating a personalized packages on how to tell our older kids, to getting Mia to focus on earning prizes so she will take her medicine, to yoga in her room, to setting up a princess scavenger hunt in the rooftop garden to get her body moving on days she just wants to lay in bed, they've thought of it all. As I'm sure any parent with a sick child can attest, it's only when we see that beautiful smile return to their little faces, do we feel like we can finally come up for a breath, even if it's just for a minute. We feel truly lucky to be treated at one of the best children's hospitals in the country, where they work to put that smile on Mia's face everyday.
Please consider joining our team, donate, and/or send out to friends and family....to help the Children's Hospital continue to put smiles on every child that walks through their doors.
I'm fundraising on behalf of Boston Children's Hospital because:
I BELIEVE no parent should experience the loss of a child.
I BELIEVE no sibling should have to watch their brother or sister suffer.
I BELIEVE that by investing in the best doctors and scientists we can save lives - today!
I BELIEVE that donations received before today helped a child I love and
I BELIEVE that every dollar I raise for Boston Children's Hospital will have a ripple effect and could be THE dollar that changes everything for a future family in crisis.
Please consider a donation to support my fundraising efforts... because I KNOW that when we band together WE WILL help fund Boston Children's exceptional care and groundbreaking research that can help every child.
