The Department of Otolaryngology and Communication Enhancement is excited to participate once again in the Eversource Walk for Kids to bring awareness for the important work we do with families seen through our department!
The ORL/CCE department cares for infants, children, teens, and young adults with a wide range of communication, hearing, feeding, and ear, nose, and throat needs. Our team includes physicians, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, nurses, clinical assistants, administrative staff, and researchers who work together to provide family-centered, individualized care across eastern Massachusetts.
Our team of pediatric otolaryngology specialists is one of the largest in the nation. Our individual expertise is reflected in our multiple specialty programs and multidisciplinary collaborations. These enable us to address complicated otolaryngology problems.
Our multidisciplinary approach to patient care draws from the broad expertise represented on our team and the comprehensive clinical resources of Boston Children’s Hospital. This ensures that every patient we treat receives the care they need for their unique condition, including minimally invasive procedures for head and neck procedures, groundbreaking research and treatment in areas such as unilateral hearing loss, gene therapy, and technological interventions for communication disorders. Boston Children’s is recognized for their family-centered care for managing children with feeding and swallowing difficulties, developmental communication challenges, voice and resonance disorders, and complex communication needs, as well as their world-renowned balance program, their cochlear implant program, and their ALS program.
Fundraising for our team will go to the Caroline Bass Fund which has provided support for thousands of children and their families within the Department of Otolaryngology and Communication Enhancement since the foundation's inception in 2001. The foundation is dedicated to making sure our unique programs and resources are equitable and accessible for all families within and beyond the clinical scope.
We are thrilled to announce a matching gift opportunity! Thanks to an anonymous family, every donation made in the lead-up to the Walk will be matched, up to a total of $10,000. This means your generosity can have twice the impact—turning a $25 donation into $50, or $100 into $200. Join us in maximizing this incredible opportunity!
Your gift will continue to:
· Provide children with access to the latest communication tools and technologies
· Host community based events that foster inclusivity
· Offer resources in families' preferred languages
· Support families in understanding their child’s communication journey and identity
· Advance evidence-based care and innovative treatments
Every step makes a difference—thank you for being part of our community and helping us build a more connected, supportive future for all kids.
We can’t wait to see you on walk day!
