My name is Sarah Soroca. I am thirteen as of May. I have Supraventricular Tachycardia, SVT for short.
The summer when I was an incoming sixth grader, my heart started to go so fast at gymnastics that I couldn’t count the beats. After about ten minutes, it went back to normal. Later that day while swimming, the same thing happened again. My mom and dad then drove me to Children’s E.R. and there they restarted my heart.
Since then I have had two ablations and tried numerous medicines. Finally, one worked. Throughout the entire process my doctors and nurses made sure I was okay and didn’t let set backs stop them from finding a way to make me better. My doctor Vassilios Bezzerides is so amazing.
As part of my bat-mitzvah project, I formed Team Soroca because I believe that every dollar I raise for Boston Children's Hospital will help other patients like me - be it helping find a cure or making a child's hospital stay just a little easier.
Please consider a donation to support my fundraising efforts, because I know first hand, how life-changing these doctors and nurses can be.
