We are fundraising on behalf of Boston Children's Hospital because this hospital is near and dear to my family’s heart. As most of you know, our Zoey is a patient here. At 1 years old, she was diagnosed with a swallowing dysfunction and was believed to be aspirating on her liquids which was causing her to be sick much too often. This past fall included a triple scope which confirmed she has a Type I laryngeal cleft in her throat which may require surgery in the future (hopefully not). Soon after bringing on an immunologist, we discovered she also has an IGA immune deficiency that makes it hard for her little body to fight off common viruses and infections. Because of these diagnosis’s, she is on thickened liquids to keep her lungs safe when she drinks and a daily antibiotic in the winter months to help her body fight off infections.
We spend a lot of time at Children's and couldn't be happier with the care and love we receive at every visit. We have left with countless stickers, balloons, toys after blood draws and time spent loving up therapy dogs (Zoey's favorite). All of this combined with her amazing team of doctors - make our visits less stressful.
A big shout out to her amazing team - Dr. Catherine Sheils (pulmonary), Dr. Gi Soo Lee (ENT), Dr. Brittany Esty (immunology), Dr. Sabina Sabharwal (GI) and Kerry Pearl (CCC-SLP).
Please consider a donation to support my fundraising efforts... because I KNOW that when we band together WE WILL help fund Boston Children's exceptional care and groundbreaking research that can help every child.
