I'm fundraising on behalf of Boston Children's Hospital because:
I believe that no family should endure the heartache that comes with having a sick child, just as no child should have to fight for their life, just as it is beginning.
My son Mark was diagnosed with the rarest form of an already obscure heart disease, known as TAPVR. Essentially, the veins of his heart were connected to the wrong areas in his heart. At only one week old, we were told that Mark needed open heart surgery in order to save his life. Without it, his prognosis was one to two weeks.
We have handed our newborn over to a team of surgeons. We had to put our son’s life in the hands of people we had met mere hours earlier. We have prayed, cried, and prayed some more. We have seen our child on a ventilator, stayed up all night in hospital chairs, and found comfort in the steady beeps of the monitors.
HOWEVER, It is because of the talent, expertise, and care that is provided at Boston Children’s Hospital, that we were also able to see our surgeon come out of Mark’s surgery, unable hold back his smile. We have hugged, thanked, and become eternally grateful for the surgical and ICU teams for their amazing work. It is because of them that we were able to provide our son the chance that he wouldn’t have had otherwise. On February 1, 2019, Boston Children’s hospital saved my son.
I believe that no child should have to endure a life threatening illness. EVERY child deserves a fighting chance like my son Mark was given.
I BELIEVE that by investing in the best doctors and scientists we can save lives - today!
I BELIEVE that donations received before today helped save Mark!
I BELIEVE that every dollar I raise for Boston Children's Hospital will have a ripple effect and could be THE dollar that changes everything for a future family in crisis.
Join us to help team Marcus support the hospital who did so much for us. Help us pay it forward, thank you all for your love and support!
