This year marks 10 years of Yoga Reaches Out.
This year is equally, if not more, important to me.
As a volunteer at Boston Children's Hospital, I have seen first hand what it looks like to have a sick child.
When you have a sick child, you can find yourself living in a hospital room, eating every meal out and not having a home-cooked meal for months, and often times income is strained due to one parent having to leave their job so their child is not alone in the hospital. Unexpected expenses like parking, accommodations, and travel can create even more stress on families.
Yoga Reaches Out was created to help support families with loved ones at Boston Children's Hospital. Through the efforts of Yoga Reaches Out, the Wellness Program has been created, where families can go to cope with the stress that comes with having a sick child.
Every time I have volunteered at Boston Children's Hospital I am blown away at the strength and resilience not only of the parents but also of the children that I have met there.
I have increased my goal this year. With your help, I hope to raise $3000.00, as a participant.
In addition, I am honored to be a New England presenter for the second time, and I am leading a team with my co-captain - Joanna Losty. We have been team leaders now for 5 years, and our team, Upward Facing has been consistently in the top 10 teams. All are welcome to join our team.
As you know, I have a lot of children in my life. My 7 nieces and nephews are the apple of my eye. I would do anything to keep them safe and ensure their health for a successful and robust future.
Please help me reach my goal.
