In 2014, my brilliant daughter, Ellie, was in a car accident in Virginia. She was 14 years old. VCU Morton Children's Hospital put her back together after days in ICU and rehab. We were so fortunate that she was only 5 minutes from the best pediatric trauma center in Viriginia and even more fortunate that our home in Massachusetts gave us access to the excellence care of Boston Children's Hospital. We must have seen all the medical disciplines when we returned to MA and while the first year after such a serious accident was scary, BCH was a gift to our family.
Ellie is a college senior now- living a vibrant life and following her many passions. The accident brought me closer to yoga as a way to deal with the trauma and stress of a catastrophic accident. I am delighted that I can participate in Yoga Reaches Out because I want to help Boston Children's Hospital continue its amazing work for kids and families. During this day-long yogathon, more than 1,200 yogis will come together for an inspirational day of yoga, music, and fundraising - all to help bring peace and healing to others.
This year donations will benefit Boston Children's Wellness Program and Every Child Fund.
Support me in helping give strength to familes coping with a sick child.
