I am honored to be selected to join the Miles for Miracles team to help the brave kids at Boston Children's Hospital and run in memory of my son, Charlie. 

Our family has experience first hand the impact of the communities generosity to Boston Children's Hospital. In August of 2020, what was suppose to be uneventful 35 week check-up quickly turned into a cancer diagnosis for our unborn son and an even quicker delivery to get him the care he needed. Without a second thought, we turned to Boston Children's Hospital, not knowing what the future would hold, but knowing that we wanted him to have the best care in the nation. 

We lived in the hospital with Charlie for the first 5 months of his life while he went through chemotherapy. It very quickly became our home and the staff became our family. To an outsider, it can be hard to understand how one can have some of the best memories when going through one of the hardest times of one's life. Not many places or people can make that happen. There is a reason Boston Children's Hospital is the best. 

Every dollar I raise funds the very best medical care, breakthrough research and vital support services for sick kids and their families. Many of which our family experienced during our time at the hospital.  Your gift will:

• help children from your town and across the world get a second chance at life;
• give kids battling the most complex diseases care they can't find anywhere else;
• fuel 3,000+ researchers working to develop new treatments and cures;
• support patient programs, like music and art therapy, to let kids be kids, even during long hospital stays;
• help patient families in crisis with urgent needs, such as food, clothing and housing;
• deliver the most compassionate, leading-edge care to every child who needs it. 

Charlie passed away at 8 months old, at our home on 6NE in Boston Children's Hospital. I miss him everyday and my life will never be the same.  But what brings me comfort during some of the darkest moments is knowing that we did everything we could because of the extraordinary medical care available at Boston Children's Hospital and that I will always be able to hear his heartbeat and remember our days together thanks to the incredible patient support programs.

I will always love Boston Children's Hospital while always hating that a place like Boston Children's Hospital has to exists. No child should have to suffer.
