I'm participating in Ride to Cure Kids on November 12, because I am passionate about helping kids and families at Boston Children's Hospital.
Oliver Yu Magann was born bright and early on July 12, 2021. The next day, the hospital pediatrician noted a heart murmur, and our journey with our heart warrior began. A few weeks later, an echocardiogram confirmed that Ollie had two holes in his heart a small hole between his upper two chambers (an ASD), and a much larger one between his two lower chambers (a VSD). Because of this, Ollie's body was burning more calories than he could take in, and he was failing to thrive.
After a few months of maintenance, we were referred to Children's Hospital for surgery to mend the holes in his heart. From the moment we stepped foot on campus, we knew we were in the right hands. Ollie had open heart surgery on October 13, 2021, and both holes were successfully closed. Today, our little boy is healthy and happy, and we have the team on the 8th floor at Children's to thank.
In our time in the cardiac unit, we met so many wonderful people, and had the best care. I want to make sure everyone who needs it has access to the same type of care, and that's why I'm riding this year.
Will you help me reach my fundraising goal with a donation today?
