I'm participating in the Eversource Walk for Boston Children’s Hospital on June 9.
I was born with bilateral talipes, also known as clubfoot.
This turns the feet and hips inward, and left untreated would prevent many children from ever walking. I was treated at BCH with surgeries, casts, braces, and other therapies all so I could walk.
Now, I do much more than that. I have studied ballet since I was four-years-old and participate in my high school's "Nutcracker" production every year, I have run track and played multiple sports. I have worked to fundraise for BCH for years, including the BCH Walk for the past 11 years. This is my way of giving back until, one day, I can become a doctor to help other kids like me. I like to say, “I walk because I can.”
Every dollar I raise funds breakthrough research and vital care and support services for sick kids and their families. Your gift will:
- give children battling the most complex diseases treatments they can’t find anywhere else;
- help children in your town and across the world get a second chance;
- fuel 3,600+ researchers working to find cures;
- fund hospital activities like art and music programs to bring patients joy and hasten healing;
- help patient-families in crisis with urgent needs, including housing, food and clothing;
- bring crucial care to families through not one, but four, outpatient psychiatry clinics;
- and so much more.
Please support my fundraising and help the children and families at Boston Children’s and beyond.
