I'm participating in the Eversource Walk for Boston Children’s Hospital on June 9.
Keeping the Beat Retreat is a weekend long summer camp-like experience for children from the ages of 6 to 17 with Pacemakers and ICDs. This camp gives these kids the opportunity to challenge themselves and participate in activities they might not be able to elsewhere. In addition to allowing campers to bond with their peers who can relate to what they've been through medically; an opportunity they most likely do not get in their everyday lives. The BCH medical staff, the Camp Burgess/Heyward staff and some incredible volunteers make this weekend as action packed, safe and FUN as possible.
I've been attending Keeping the Beat Retreat almost every year since its inception 25 years ago. From camper to volunteer, it still brings me joy and I want it to continue for many years to come. The friendships, bonding experiences and the opportunities it a has given to challenge myself are unmatched.
Please consider supporting Keeping the Beat Retreat.
