I am fundraising on behalf of my five year old daughter, Isabella while raising awareness for lymphatic malformations. Lymphatic malformations are rare, non-malignant masses consisting of fluid-filled channels or spaces thought to be caused by the abnormal development of the lymphatic system. These malformations are usually apparent at birth or by two years of age.
Isabella was diagnosed at 3 months of age during an emergency surgery. The lymphatic malformation abscessed and due to lack of blood flow to her large intestine she had to have half of it removed. Since then we have learned that her malformation now is diffuse throughout her abdomen and she may also have a conducting channel lymphatic anomaly.
Bella is a caring, loving and thoughtful little girl who lights up every room with her beautiful smile & contagious giggle. She is quick witted and an absolute joy to be around. Bella has been through more than most adults will ever go through in their lifetime. She has had multiple procedures, appointments and two major surgeries. Bella has pain more often than not, however you would never know this. She is very stoic while fighting through and always gives her all in school & all her activities. She loves to dance, sing, play soccer & most of all spend time at the beach. She is such a blessing & truly amazing. We are so proud of her each and everyday.
Our family and friends have been walking for the past two years and have raised a total of $15,000 dollars. This year will be our third year and our goal will be $5,000 as a team. All of the funds will be going directly to the Vascular Anomalies Clinic where Bella is followed closely by her extensive team of specialists. Our hope is that one day there will be a cure for this rare disease and it will no longer effect our daughter or anyone else fighting this disease daily.
Please consider contributing to this cause and this wonderful hospital. Every amount helps, there is no amount too small and ALL are greatly appreciated! Thank you!!
