Hi. I'm Nathaniel.
I'm a Heart Kid at Boston Children's Hospital and Team Captain of "Nate the Great!" You may recognize me from running the halls of the hospital in my superhero cape.
I was born with several cardiac defects: Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia, an unroofed Coronary Sinus and Bilateral SVCs. Additionally, I was diagnosed with Primary Hypothyroidism, Hydronephrosis and a Grade 4 Kidney Reflux, resulting in my right kidney functioning permanently at only 10-11%.
I am 4-1/2 years-old and, between my heart and kidney, already have 10 surgeries/OR procedures under my belt. I had my first Open Heart Surgery when I was 5-weeks and my second at 20 months.
If you'd like to learn more about my journey, feel free to check out my CaringBridge page: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/rodman
I am fundraising for the Heart Center’s Urgent Needs Fund. I am walking to honor all of my Heart Friends I've made at Children's Hospital and thank the doctors, nurses and support staff who helped me throughout my journey.
I very much appreciate your support.
